The Maze

When I think about life and the way that it works I start to realise just how incredible it is and just how quickly it can disappear. What confuses me is that we get so caught up in everything that we forget to dream a little bit. We forget that we’re allowed to rest for a moment before getting back into battle.

What is this riddle that we call life? Why do we make it hard on ourselves? Life is full of woes and hurdles to jump. It’s a bit like a maze where you don’t know what’s around the corner and when you reach a junction you have to make a choice. Sometimes these lead to a dead end, but what you need to realise is that hope is not lost. You haven’t gone the wrong way per say but rather you’ve found the way not to go. You can always take the time to retrace and find the right way. I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t stress out if things don’t seem to be going the way you want them to.

Another thing I’ve noticed that the maze of life does is that it can make you so focused on doing one thing that you can become afraid of taking a risk for something you believe in, or something which you love to do. I’ve heard a lot of stories from people who worked the same job for years because it was safe not because it was what they loved to do.

I think that the main issue here ties back into the concept of identity which we have been exploring a little bit. So many people don’t know who they are anymore that they are willing to do anything. Don’t give up on your dreams. When you are doing something that you are passionate about you will have the hardest time. The thing that you love doing the most will be the hardest thing to do. You have to fight for what you dream about.

Don’t be afraid to take risks.

You don’t have to be afraid of the maze, because once you get through and know what you believe in, the countryside opens up in front of you.

Get up. Find your passion. Do it. I reckon you’ll be surprised what you can accomplish when you’re doing what you’re passionate about.
